DCB zooming

So 3S showed 3-4-3-3, 8 SPs.
What was 5D? We have this DCB guideline “The farthest you can go is a raise of the ask, without substantial extras.” This is because an honour in each suit is sometimes not great news. Zooming to the second pass could send us overboard.

So 5C would have said “An honour in every suit, no further info.”

East decided to Zoom anyway. 5D showed TWO things – a second heart honour, no 2nd spade honour. West then had to check for a second diamond honour, to make sure East didn’t have D-KQx.

Say East had stopped at 5C, NFI. Then we get

5D – 5S = H – yes, S – no
5N – 6C = D – no
